DNA MARKED ROBERT BOWMAN AS EILEEN ADAMS' KILLER

IT TOOK MORE than 40 years but DNA tests finally pointed a finger at Robert Bowman as the killer, a lab rat told his murder trial. Bowman, now 75, is on trial for first-degree murder in the grisly 1967 sex slaying of pretty Eileen Adams, 14, of Toledo, Ohio. Bowman became the prime suspect in 2006 after a reverse paternity test was conducted on a semen stain found on Eileen's underwear. In 2008, after his arrest, his DNA was compared to the stain again.
Jennifer Akbar told court that the possibility that the DNA found in the semen was someone other than Bowman was 1 in 4,153,000.

Eileen was last seen Dec. 18, 1967, on a city bus after school en route to her sister's home. Her body was discovered Jan. 30, 1968, in a frozen field. Her hands were tied in front; ankles tied with a cord connected to her neck. A nail driven through the back of her skull was the killer's sickening coup de grace. Detectives testified that the case went cold for 14 years until his ex-wife came forward. At the time there wasn't enough evidence to arrest him.
