MYRON TRAYLOR MISSING SINCE 1988; FOUL PLAY EYED

jilla | 5:56 AM | | | | | Be the first to comment!
Myron Traylor, 13, vanished from Phoenix, Arizona, on July 28, 1988. He is 5’5", 106 lbs., black hair, brown eyes. At the time of his disappearance he was wearing a red and white striped shirt, white/blue print shorts, and white tennis shoes. He has a ½ inch scar on the right side of his head.
Cops say Myron and his mother were walking to his grandmother’s house a block from their hime. Myron and his mother separated as Myron stopped to get a drink at a fast food restaurant in the area of 16th Street and Southern. Myron has not been seen since and the case is considered a non-family abduction. Cops suspect his mom's ex-boyfriend--a drug player--at the time is responsible but have never been able to put together enough evidence. Myron's mother died in 2002.

COPS STYMIED IN CATCHING HEIDI SEEMAN KILLER

jilla | 6:45 AM | | | | Be the first to comment!
FOR 21 years a killer has gone unpunished. On Saturday, August 4, 1990, after spending the night with a friend, Heidi Seeman, 11, was walking home when she was snatched off the street. Her friend, who had walked her halfway home, last saw Heidi at Stahl Rd. and Willow Run, on San Antonio's Northeast side.
A witness in this case described a shiny red car, with tinted windows and a thin red stripe down the side, seen driving in the neighborhood in a suspicious manner, just prior to Heidi Seeman being abducted.
On Saturday, August 25, 1990, the decomposed remains of Heidi Seeman were discovered in an isolated property in Hays County, Texas. She had been murdered.
Over the years several leads have been investigated and suspects developed, but not enough evidence has been found for police to file a case against anyone.

NICHOLAS STOFER MURDERED ALIE BERRELEZ IN '93: COPS

jilla | 3:27 AM | | | | | Be the first to comment!
UPDATE: Cops probing the unsolved 1993 kidnapping and murder of 5-year-old Alie Berrelez matched a DNA sample to a long dead suspect in the case. Nicholas Randolph Stofer was considered the killer as far back as February 1994, but prosecutors never felt enough evidence existed to file charges and his DNA had not previously been matched to evidence in the case. Stofer died of a drug overdose in 2001. Alie's family said: "Nick Stofer is no longer alive, but I am sure there is judgement, punishment, where he went."

MORE IN THE DENVER POST  EARLIER: Little Aleszandra "Alie" Berrelez was just 5-years-old when she vanished on May 18, 1993 from her apartment complex in Englewood, Colorado. Four days
later, her tiny body was found stuffed in a duffel bag that had been tossed down a ravine. She was dressed in the clothes she had disappeared in and had been smothered to death. Now, 18 years later cops say a DNA hit has finally led to a suspect in the horrendous murder. More details will be released later on Tuesday. Det. Brad Johnson said: "This break was due to the diligence of our detectives and their
persistence in solving this case. Detectives hung in there and with technology were able to do something with this case. We hope this will provide some closure to the family." When Alie disappeared, family and friends searched door to door in the neighborhood, but it was a police bloodhound named Yogi that tracked Alie's scent from the apartment complex 10 miles to the canyon. The day after Berrelez's body was found, Yogi returned to Deer Creek Canyon and traced the scent back to a neighborhood apartment in the Englewood complex where Berrelez. It has always been believed a neighbor committed the sinister crime. The only named suspect in the case was a man named Nicholas Randolph Stofer, 41, who lived in the complex. He died of natural causes in 2001. MORE FROM THE DENVER CHANNEL

COPS TURN UP HEAT IN 1992 MISTY COPSEY KIDNAPPING

MISTY COPSEY

GREEN RIVER KILLER
FOR 19 YEARS, the story has been the same: a bloody brick wall. Misty Copsey was a well-behaved 14-year-old who vanished into thin air on Sept. 17, 1992 after a night at the Puyallup Fair with a girlfriend. She never came home and there has never been a body or a single trace of anything to solve the heartbreaking riddle. And, according to the Tacoma News-Tribune, the case was botched almost from the minute Diana Smith--Misty's mom--called the cops and reported her daughter missing. Cops, insisted she was a runaway and generally didn't bother much.
They thought Diana Smith was lying.
Evidence vanished, they pooh poohed witnesses and did a terrible disservice to the young girl and her family. They kept to that story for years. But that was then, this is now and they are calling the reopened case a homicide investigation. Largely thanks to the News-Tribune.
They've gathered forensic evidence, DNA and built a file. But still, there is no aha or home run moment. Deputy Chief Bryan Jeter said: "We need a spark. Somebody knows, is the bottom line."

And the possibilities are frightening: When Misty disappeared, at least six sex killers and predators roamed within 20 miles of the fairgrounds. Among them were: Gary Ridgway, the Green River Killer; Terapon Adhahn, a convicted sex offender who would abduct and rape an 11-year-old girl in 2000, and snatch and kill a Tacoma girl in 2007; and Timothy Ray Burkhart, now deceased, lately identified as the most prolific serial killer in Pierce County. AUSTIN POWERS STAR ACCUSED OF 1990 KIDNAP/RAPE

RANDOM RAPIST?
AUSTIN Powers star Joe Son is set to stand trial for the vicious 1990 kidnap and rape of a woman.
The pint sized actor who made his name playing shoe throwing bad guy, Random Task has turned into a real bad guy after his DNA was matched to the vicious crime.
On Christmas Eve of 1990 the 20-year-old woman was abducted off the LA street by two men, who reportedly then subjected her to a vicious beating.
Then holding her at gunpoint, they repeatedly raped her, telling her her she was going to die as they counted the bullets in front of her, according to Orange County prosecutors.
Astonishingly they let her go and Son managed to evade justice, building a career, first as an MMA fighter and then hitting stardom in Austin Powers, International Man of Mystery. But after he was arrested in 2008 and imprisoned in 2008 for violating his parole on an unrelated felony vandalism conviction, his DNA was entered into the Codicis National Database and he was linked to the attack more then two decades ago.
Son initially was charged with multiple sexual assault and kidnapping counts, but many of those charges were dropped in part because the statute of limitations had expired KTLA reports.
He now faces trial on two charges: conspiracy to commit murder and torture, which carry life terms in prison upon conviction, according to Deputy District Attorney Eric Scarbrough.
Santiago Gaitan, 40, Son's co-defendant, was arrested in 2009 after he, too, was linked to the assault.
He pleaded guilty to multiple sex crimes in January 2011, and was sentenced to prison for 17 years and four months.
