A MISSING missionary who was on her way to Mexico when she vanished continues to baffle authorities almost 20-years since she vanished. 

Dedicated Jennifer Lynn Pentilla, was just 18-years-old when she decided to meet a missionary group in Las Cruces, NM and help the poor, before heading south of the border. 

Armed with a backpack and a couple of bibles, she planned to ride down on her mountain bike from San Diego and called in with mom eight times to report her progress. 

But on October 17, she changed her plans, telling her mother that she'd heard that a woman traveling alone in Mexico could be dangerous and she'd decided to go and meet a pal in Minnesota instead.  

Her mom offered to pay for her transport there after she made more concrete plans, and Pentilla agreed to call her back that evening. 

But she never called back, never arrived at the friend's home and has not been heard from again. 

About a year later, on September 4, 1992, two dove hunters found Pentilla's camping equipment and journal under a tarp in a remote area between Hatch and Deming off of State Road 26, about 46 miles northeast of Deming.

But despite a large investigation by the Missoula Police Department and a large amount of national news coverage no information has surfaced.

FUMIKO SIMONEAU DISAPPEARED IN '07; BODY ID'D

WE GUESS he just kinda forgot. For years a murdered woman's body went unidentified. Of course, her hubby never reported her missing. Now, everything is about to change.
Fumiko Simoneau disappeared in 2007 from San Diego and her body was found days later in the Anza Borrego desert. However, a search warrant affidavit claims her husband kept talking to people as if she were alive. Here's where it gets interesting: Anthony Simoneau, had filed for divorce back in 2002, then suddenly withdrew those papers soon after Fumiko
inherited a small fortune from relatives in Japan.
Simoneau then embarked on on a meathead shopping spree buying: four Land Rovers, four boats, a Hummer and a motorcycle. Then Fumiko went missing. her family said the last time they talked to her was in January 2007. An unidentified body was found in the desert two months later. Now, DNA has confirmed it was Fumiko. One former friend of Anthony Simoneau called him "a con artist, a liar and evasive," telling investigators he witnessed Simoneau threatening Fumiko "if you ever try and leave me I will kill you." He has also defrauded other Japanese women apparently and even took his father for $140,000. He's now in Hawaii--under supervision. THE BIZARRE CASE OF ANTHONY SIMONEAU

NO CLOSURE FOR JANE DOE FOUND DISMEMBERED IN '73

IT WAS a sickening find. On June 13, 1973 San Diego Police discovered the dismembered body of a young woman underneath a pier. Her body had been dismembered and placed into an orange suitcase and several green plastic garbage bags. The  suitcase contained the woman's torso and arms wrapped in a green plastic bag. Another bag found in the water beneath the Embarcadero boardwalk held her head and police divers said they found two legs floating 100 yards apart in the bay.
The victim of this sinister crime has never been identified--nor has the killer. The reason is also lost to the ages. She was white, in her late teens or early 20s, 5'1 and about 150 lbs. She had black medium length hair, perfect teeth was likely of Italian or Portuguese background. Cops say there was a ½“ birthmark on her left outer thigh, similar to a mole.  There were also two smallpox-type vaccination marks on her right shoulder and possibly a small round scar on her left cheek. Although the woman’s remains were found in San Diego, cops thought she might have been from the Los Angeles area. At the time there were at least half a dozen other dismemberment murders in sunny southern California but cops pooh-poohed any link.
