TEXAS COUPLE'S 1980 MURDER HAS 'NO CLEAR MOTIVE'

jilla | 5:01 AM | | |
THE SLAYING was brutal. On May 9, 1980, neighbors heard gunfire from the quiet house in San Antonio. Seconds later a 1973 tan or gold Mercury Montego sped down the street. It belonged to Margaret and Keith Conable. Neighbors thought one of them must be sick. But the next morning, a neighbor noticed the car was still gone and went over to do a check on the pair. Inside, a horror show: both had been brutally beaten to death. The car and some CB radios were missing. Over the years, several tips have been followed but the case remains unsolved with no clear motive. The CBs and the Mercury Montego (TXECF275) remain missing.
